The Navratri First Day Puja starts with Ghatasthapana, a ritual symbolising the power of women. Ghatasthapana is performed on the first day of Navratri and is regarded as Navratri’s most important ritual.

Through using  Navratri First Day Puja objects that are considered holy and symbolic, the Ghatasthapana puja is completed. As a foundation, a shallow pan is used like a clay utensil. In the tub, three layers of mud and seeds from Sapta Dhanya / Navadhanya are then dispersed. After that, you need to sprinkle a little bit of water so that the seeds get enough moisture. Then, with Ganga jal, the Kalasha is filled. Supari, a few coins are placed in water, Akshat (raw rice mixed with turmeric powder) and Durva grass. Five leaves of a mango tree are then wrapped around the neck of the Kalash, which is then covered by a coconut.
