Kaigal Falls – Dumukurallu Waterfalls – Distance, Bangalore, Devadoddi Andhra Pradesh

Kaigal Falls:

The Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary protects the Kaigal Waterfalls, which are located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India.Kaigal Falls is named after the Kaigal village, which is about 2.5 kilometres from the falls and is located at 13.0690°N 78.5621°E. It is 633 meters above sea level on average (2,079 ft). Dumukuralla Water Falls is the local name for the falls. The Telugu name Dumukurallu water falls gained popularity due to its sound, which suggested the falling of stones from the sky.

The Kaigal waterfall is natural and perennial, with water falling from a wide rock at a height of 40 feet throughout the year. During the annual Monsoon season, however, its strength and beauty are intensified. Below the drop, there are many natural ponds. Its location in a forest offers an additional benefit of natural, undisturbed scenery with a wide selection of exotic birds, shrubs, plants, and wildlife. The Kaigal stream, one of two streams that pass through the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary (the other being the Koudinya stream), forms the falls. It falls under the jurisdiction of Theertham Panchaithi and Baireddipalli Mandal.

The Kuppam – Palamaner Highway passes through Kaigal village. As you drive from Kuppam, the village will appear on the right side of the road, and the waterfall will be around 2.5 kilometers away. There is a mud road that leads very close to the falls, from which you can walk a short distance to the falls. For people from the surrounding areas, the falls are an especially popular picnic spot. In AP, it has massive falls.

Near the drop, the Police Department has erected a “no trespassing” sign. Before approaching the waterfall, it is advisable to request police assistance or permission.

The Kaigal waterfalls are situated between the villages of Devadoddi Andhra pradesh and Kaigal. Buses now come to a halt in Kaigal. Near the entrance is a portrait of Lord Hanuman. One must travel nearly two kilometres into the deep jungle from here. Before you see the water actually falling down, you must cross the river and turn left when you reach the valley.
