Tu-142 Aircraft Museum:
The Tupolev Tu-142 Aircraft Museum is a preserved Tupolev Tu-142 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was publicly launched by President of India Ram Nath Kovind in December 2017 as part of Vizag city tourism marketing.In the presence of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the TU 142 Aircraft Museum Vizag on Beach Road here on Thursday, the country’s first such museum.
The Andhra Pradesh government decided to keep the plane as a museum. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation supported the project’s development, which cost roughly 14 crores.
After 30 years of service, the Indian Navy’s TU-142M aircraft was retired and converted into a museum near Visakhapatnam’s sea beach. Located directly across from the Submarine Museum Vizag, this has become another popular tourist attraction in the RK Beach Area. There is a Rs 70/- entry fee for each person, with no additional charges for cameras. Before boarding the plane, you can view a display of diverse aircraft equipment and parts in a single exhibition hall. Sonobuoys, propellers, engines, survival kits, anti-submarine missiles, date recorders, and other equipment are all presented with all of their details. You can take shots outside the plane, and the area is well-kept. A flight simulator platform is available for use with virtual reality headsets.
