Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple
The Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple has been constructed by the Rajalakshmi Kubera Trust on an area of 4,000 square feet at Ratnamangalam village near Chennai. The temple is dedicated to Kubera and has a five-tiered gopuram.
Ratnamangalam is on the road connecting Vandalur Zoo and Kelambakkam. Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple is the only temple in India dedicated to the worship of Sri Mahalakshmi and Kubera.
Significance of Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple
Sri Mahalakshmi is the presiding deity of wealth. Kubera is the guardian of wealth. Kubera Puja is linked to both Mahalakshmi and Kubera to have stable wealth. It is believed that lost wealth can also be recovered through puja. By worshiping both Sri Mahalakshmi and Kubera in this temple, the devotee gets wealth. Devotees are advised to visit Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple before visiting Venkateswara Balaji Temple in Tirupati.

Construction of Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple
Sri Kubera can be seen in the temple holding a sanganidhi pot in his left hand and a padmanidhi (kalasha) pot in his right hand. He decorated the sanctum sanctorum with the Supreme Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and her consort Chitarini. Goddess Mahalakshmi is seen blessing Kubera inside the shrine. Below the main sanctum of the temple is another sanctum, at the lower level known as Kubera Lingam or Patala Kubera.
The temple has an idol of Kannu Drishti Ganapati (for protection from evil eye). There is a mandir of Swarnakarshan Bhairav. In many temples, he appears as the guardian deity. Here is a deity to help you attract gold. The Corridor has rare shrines to Selva Muthukumaran, Sri Swami Ayyappan, Sri Adirshta Devi, Brahma and Saraswati, Lakshmi Ganapati and Navagrahas. There is a fish pond in the temple premises. There are unique Vastu fish in the pond. Vastu fish bring good luck. Above the pond there is a statue of Shankaracharya. There is also a Laughing Buddha statue in the temple premises.
History of Lakshmi Kuberar Temple
Kubera was a sincere devotee of Lord Shiva. He performed severe penance and pleased Lord Shiva with his devotion and efforts. He sought the blessings of Lord Shiva. Kubera went for darshan (divine sight) of Lord Shiva at Mount Kailasa. He found Shiva with his wife Parvati Devi. Kuber was amazed by the beauty of Goddess Parvati, such a beautiful and beautiful goddess for a long time
He regretted not worshiping. While he was deep in thought, one of his eyes closed. Goddess Parvati thought that Kubera was winking at her with evil intent. She was enraged, and the result was that his closed eye burst. They cursed that eye to lose its sight and be deformed.
Kubera begged Lord Shiva for forgiveness and explained to Lord Shiva that he never had any bad intentions. Lord Shiva left the decision to his consort Parvati. The Mother Goddess forgave him and restored his injured eye, but it was smaller than the other eye.
Lord Shiva forgave Kubera and made him the Ashtadig palaka (guardian) of Uttara Dikku, one of the eight directions. Goddess Parvati made Kubera the king of wealth and materiality. Kubera is not only the possessor of wealth and food grains but also the guardian. Now it is Kubera’s responsibility to ensure that all the wealth created by Goddess Lakshmi is distributed. Kubera can be seen with his family, navaratnas and images with gold.
Venkateswara of Tirupati is believed to have borrowed money from Kubera for his wedding and was repaying the loan amount with interest. Therefore, it is believed that Lord Venkateswara will be the protector during the Ashada month. It is believed that people donate money at the Tirupati Devasthanam so that he can repay Kubera.
Festivals celebrated at Sri Lakshmi Kuberar Temple
Festivals celebrated at the temple include Diwali, which falls in October-November. Worshiping at this temple on this festival day is believed to be very auspicious and bring prosperity. The temple also celebrates Vaikuntha Ekadashi in December-January and Akshaya Tritiya in April-May.
