Legend & Story of Pitambara Peeth

Peetha has a rich history related to its mythology. This further increases its importance as a shrine with its similarity to the Mahabharata period. In particular, the legends of ‘Tapasthali’ and the Shiva lingam in the complex have been tested as belonging to the Mahabharata period, as argued by many others associated with the mythology of the complex. This factor drives most of the devotee traffic in the temple. Peeth has a library where one can find books depicting the stories of the tools and techniques of the place and its history. Pujyapad, also known as Swamiji among devotees, was the main force behind the establishment of the complex or Peeth in the 19th century. However, his true identity and name is still an unexplored or unrevealed topic.
