Jonnawada Kamakshi temple is a town in Butchireddipalem mandal, based in Nellore district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Jonnawada Kamakshi Temple is a famous temple dedicated to the goddess Kamakshi and Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy, one of Shakti’s variations, on the banks of the Penna River, 12 km from the heart of the city of Nellore.

Jonnawada Kamakshi Temple History:

It is famous for the swamy of Sri Mallikarjuna and the temple of Kamakshi amma built-in 1150. The Kamakshi goddess is thought to be Shakti’s incarnation. Sri Jagadguru Adhi Sankaracharya built a ‘ Sri Chakram.

The entrance gate to the temple, Dwaja Sthabham, and the temple gopuram with five kalasams on top are produced of gold. At this location, Sri Jagadguru Sankaracharya has set up a “Sri Chakra.”

Brahmotsavam is conducted in Telugu month’s Vaisaka Masam and Dasara festival’s Nine Days also celebrated in a great manner
