Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple also Gavipuram Cave Temple, an example of Indian rock-cut architecture, is situated in Bangalore in the state of Karnataka, India. The Gangadhareshwara Temple is renowned for its enigmatic stone disks in the forecourt and the exact preparation that enables the sun to shine on the shrine at any time of the year. It was designed in the 16th century by Kempe Gowda I, the city’s founder.

This Gavipuram Cave Temple dedicated to Shiva in Bangalore is a well-visited temple. Founded in the Vedic era by Gautama Maharishi and Bharadwaja Muni. Renovated in the 16th century AD by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bengaluru, the Gangadhareshwara Temple is an architectural wonder that attracts the hordes of the faithful. One of the oldest temples in the city of Bangalore.
Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple was built by Kempe Gowda in appreciation of his release from prison for five years by Rama Raya. There are other idols inside the Agni Murthy idol, including two heads, seven hands and three legs. Many who worship this god assume that he will heal one of the defects of the eye.The Gangadhareshwara Temple is also known for its four monolithic pillars, reflecting Damar, Trishul and two fans on the patio.
Founded in a natural cave in Gavipuram, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is carved into a monolithic stone. There are some monolithic sculptures in the courtyard of the temple. The key attractions of the Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple are two granite pillars that support the giant disk of the sun and the moon, while the other two have a number of Nandi on the top.
