Mudasarlova Park Visakhapatnam:
In the Indian city of Visakhapatnam, there is a park known as Mudasarlova Park. It occupies an area of 20 acres (8.1 hectares). It is one of the oldest parks in this region of Coastal Andhra and was built in 1902. The city receives its drinking water from the park’s water reservoir. It was ranked as one of the top locations for locals to go on picnics.Sri Pusapati Ananda Gajapati Raju (Ex-MP, Visakhapatnam) provided land from his family trust for Mudasarlova’s development.
Mudasarlova Reservoir:
The oldest water reservoir in Visakhapatnam is located at Mudasarlova Park. Every day, it provides 1 million gallons of water. The British built this reservoir in 1901. At a cost of Rs. 11.34 crore, the floating solar power plant was constructed in 20 acres of the reservoir, one of the oldest artificial bodies of water.
A reservoir with a surface area of 25 hectares (62 acres) with a flow of 1.5MGD is located in Visakhapatnam (millions of gallons per day). On the reservoir, the Andhra Pradesh government constructed a floating solar power plant with a 2 MW capacity.
