Kaleshwaram Temple History:
The Hindu deity Shiva has a temple there. The two Shiva Lingas that are located on a single pedestal give the temple its significance. Lord Shiva and Lord Yama are the names of these Lingas. They are referred to as Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy together. One of the three Shiva temples described in Trilinga Desham, also known as the “Land of Three Lingas,” is Kaleshwaram.
According to legend, hundreds of milk pots were used during an Abhishekam to Lord Kaleshwara Mukteswara done by a Vaishya in the distant past, and the milk evolved at the sangamam rivers Godavari and Pranahita.
Visitors come to the sacred site from 16 November to 15 December, which is the Karthika Month according to the Indian calendar. Holy baths are held from December 6–17. People who take a bath here pay a visit to Lord Ganesha first, then offer prayers to Lord Yama and Lord Shiva.
The Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Temple, which is next to Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple, was inaugurated in 2018. New Nitya Anna Dhana Vysya Satram was located nearby. Rajaiah and Satyavathi Devi Daram are the ones who fund and construct the temple. The Purohiths are carrying out daily rites.
