Loutolim in Salcette, Goa, was home to the first Ramnathi temple. In order to avoid being destroyed by the Portuguese authorities of the time, the Idol of Ramnathi was moved to its current location in the 16th century. The Ramnathi temple celebrated 450 years in its current location in May 2011.
