Cholera was strongly distributed in the region in 1917 AD. Then the Venkatagiri Raja was conducted seethala Yagam and installed Astadhigbhandana Yantras. In 1919 AD the Raja began Poleramma Jatara.
Kummari individuals living in venkatagiri kummari road prepare the poleramma monument with clay. Deity will be held out on the road for two days. During this moment devotees will do unique poojas to god. After two days deity will go around the streets of venkatagiri followed by nimarjanam.
